Unveiling the Heroes of Progress: BHP's 2025 HSEC Awards
From injury prevention to cultural revival, the winners of BHP's 2025 Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) Awards embody the values that have propelled us forward for over a century. These awards, now in their 22nd year, are our highest tribute, celebrating the ingenuity and impact of our people in making BHP and our communities safer, greener, and more inclusive.
On November 12, 2025, in Melbourne, Australia, we gathered to honor the achievements of teams and individuals from every corner of our operations. BHP's CEO, Mike Henry, emphasized the power of ideas and values in driving progress: "Each day presents an opportunity to make a positive difference, and our finalists have embodied this spirit." He continued, "The heart of innovation lies in the ideas of those closest to the work."
Since their inception, the HSEC Awards have inspired over 2,000 nominations, celebrating the efforts of more than 580 finalists. This year, nearly 400 nominations were received, with 30 finalists chosen across six core categories. All finalists were also eligible for the People's Choice Award, voted on by our global team.

The dedication and teamwork showcased by our winners, finalists, and nominees demonstrate our commitment to continuous improvement across BHP. These everyday heroes, through their projects, strengthen our shared focus on safety, inclusion, and sustainability.
And this is the part most people miss: it's not just about the awards. It's about the impact these initiatives have on our world. But here's where it gets controversial... What do you think? Do these awards truly capture the essence of progress and positive change? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments!
