Hollywood Star Dennis Quaid's Unfiltered Praise for Trump
In a recent podcast interview with evangelical pastor and podcaster Greg Laurie, 71-year-old Hollywood veteran Dennis Quaid gushed over President Donald Trump, calling him "approachable," "very funny," and "really genuine." This isn't Quaid's first time expressing his support for the president; he's been a vocal fan and even campaigned for Trump in 2024.
"He wouldn’t be president if he wasn’t genuine," Quaid said. "The people who voted for him, they know that he has their best interests at heart, that he is a genuine person." Quaid praised Trump's energy and enthusiasm, stating, "I’ve never seen anybody with that kind of energy." He also compared Trump to his favorite president of the 20th century, Ronald Reagan, saying, "We were a nation in decline. That’s what they told us. Ronald Reagan came along and said, no, we’re not a nation in decline. We’re going there. And we followed him. The same with Trump. With President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century."
However, Quaid's admiration for Trump isn't limited to the president's political achievements. He also criticized Hollywood, claiming it has veered too far left. "Being a Clinton Democrat in today’s Hollywood is the same thing as being a neo-con, on the right side or whatever. What used to be, you can’t be anymore," Quaid said. "I’m a common-sense independent myself. You know, I think I lean more conservative in my head. But umm, I’m just for common sense."
Despite his strong political views, Quaid remains a respected actor known for his roles in films like The Right Stuff and The Parent Trap. His support for Trump has sparked both admiration and controversy, highlighting the complex relationship between Hollywood and politics.
