However, rumors suggest his scripts for Dune: Prophecy didn’t meet Legendary’s expectations. Diane Ademu-John took over briefly before Alison Schapker became the sole showrunner. Villeneuve, initially set to direct the first two episodes, had to pass the baton to Renck due to scheduling conflicts with Dune: Part Two.
