The initial tribunal found in favor of Ford, stating that the Ranger's Intelligent Oil Life Monitoring system was designed for Sydney's 'severe' traffic conditions and that no defect was present. The appeal panel agreed, stating that the new evidence was not reasonably available at the time of the initial hearing.
